Apostle N.J. Dunlap, a true last day Prophet of God, was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. He was raised by his late grandmother all of his life. Throughout his childhood, he knew that there was something different about him unlike any of the other children. Having church as his growing roots, he knew that he would someday be destined to preach the Word of God.
At the age of six, he remembers preaching standing on a chair from Psalm 23, at Gold Hill Full Gospel Holiness and began to play the drums. During a revival service one evening, God allowed an anointed woman of God, Pastor C Myers, to anoint his hands to play the keyboard. At an early age, he was filled with the Holy Ghost and baptized in Jesus Name under the “Big Gospel Tent” by the hands of Prophet David L. Terrell. Being that God had ordained him a Prophet in his mother’s womb; Apostle N.J. Dunlap accepted and began to walk in the call. God began to open up many doors large and small, far and wide, because of the Prophetic mantle. He was now traveling throughout the East Coast preaching the unadulterated Gospel of Jesus Christ and winning souls to the kingdom of God. Throughout his journey, God continued to elevate Apostle N.J. Dunlap.
At the demise of his grandmother in the late 90’s, this was a major turning point in his ministry. He then made a conscious decision to never allow anyone to stop him from reaching his ultimate goal, Heaven! In 1999, Apostle N. J. Dunlap was ordained as an Elder under the leadership of Bishop Tommy L. Durham, Pastor of by Faith Pentecostal Church. In 2000, he was installed as the Pastor of Revival Tabernacle Temple of Praise. Apostle N.J. Dunlap pastured this church for one year. At the eleventh month of Pastoring, after souls were saved and bodies were healed, the Lord told him to move to South Carolina, for there was a body of people that needed a shepherd. With much prayer and fasting, God led him to move to South Carolina. In 2001, the Lord allowed apostle to be consecrated into Apostleship. When God promoted him to the job of Apostleship, it was undeniably one of the greatest achievements made in his life. He continued to conduct revivals, conferences, and crusades, all the while winning souls for the Kingdom of God. God was now leading Apostle to Pastor a body of people, for he saw that the hunger and thirst in the people grew greater and greater during each revival. Through much travailing, praying, fasting, and seeking direction from God, a ministry was birth by God into Apostle N.J. Dunlap!
Throughout his walk with God, hundreds have come back to God, thousands have found God, and countless amounts of lives have been changed significantly just by a simple encounter with Christ through this man of God. Through the hand of God, he has won many souls to the kingdom and established a great organization, Temple of Refuge Church of the Living God, Inc.
In June 2002, God blessed Apostle Dunlap to expand his ministry and began to birth Temple of Refuge Church of the Living God, Inc. in St. George, S Carolina. In 2007 in Charlotte, N. Carolina and 2019 in Roanoke, AL
Apostle Dunlap is an anointed sermon orator and teacher with exceptional organizational skills. Through these skills the Temple of Refuge Church of the Living God Inc. has expanded. This has now enabled him to add ministries in addition to the current founding organization now located at 7504 East Independence Blvd. Ste. 111 Charlotte, North Carolina. While not limited to one location Apostle Dunlap is the Founder and Presiding Prelate of organizations in Savannah, Georgia, Temple of Refuge Church of the Living God site 2 in South Carolina, and Miracle Temple Church of the Living God also in Charlotte, North Carolina allowing him leadership over churches in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. Apostle Dunlap has been blessed to allow God to use him in ministry to travel across the United States meeting numerous different pastors, leaders, and bishops to establish prominent fellowships in 10 separate states from the east coast to the west coast.
His love for Jesus Christ and the people of God has not just led him to birth ministries but as he continues to pastor the founding church, Apostle continues to take the time to speak, preach, and spread the gospel in churches, seminars, conventions, and conferences both domestically and internationally. In the founding church he offers weekly bible study and two Sunday worship services offering the flock an opportunity to know Jesus and his teachings as well as the apostle’s doctrine. Numerous new ministries have been designed to empower the membership spiritually and educationally. Apostle Dunlap is a leader, preacher, teacher, mentor, and advisor. His love for the ministry has created a new generation of soldiers in this army of the Lord both young and old with a kingdom mind set as they follow by his example. Modern day Apostle Dunlap is keeping the Great Commission. Matthew 28:19 say’s go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.
In just the last few years Apostle Dunlap has propelled his ministry to cater to the needs of the total man pulling into the forefront as a leader not just in the church but in the community. He has taken the initiative to develop a food bank, clothing bank, and shelter ministry. Under his pastorate, Apostle Dunlap has been able to reach out to the Charlotte community through the annual adopt a family for the Christmas and Thanksgiving holiday, back to school supplies give-a-ways, and assisting families in crisis situations.
He continues to work his vision as the Founder of Temple of Refuge Church of the Living God to complete the churches mission statement and purpose. His vision has moved the ministry from inside the four walls of the church and taken it outside allowing it to be an asset to the community as well. He continues to progress in ministry with plans to establish an elder and night care facility, child care, training and skills institute, and a 24-hour prayer line.
There is so much to look forward to with Apostle Dunlap. His work is just beginning. God has something greater in store for this mighty man of God! This is not the end of his journey, it is merely the beginning!
Although looked upon as being a young Apostle and small in stature, this mighty man of God comes packed with more than just a word from on high, he comes with God to his right, God to his left, God in his front, God at his back, God underneath, and God above him. He comes packed with POWER!
